PARIS, FRANCE: Decorated gymnast Simone Biles will give viewers an intimate behind-the-scenes glimpse of her time in Paris with her new Netflix series following her triumphs at the 2024 Olympics.

After winning three gold and one silver medal in the Paris 2024 Olympics—adding to her collection of seven previous medals—Biles' incredible journey will be chronicled in the last parts of her Netflix documentary titled 'Simone Biles Rising'.

Simone Biles' Paris Olympics success to be celebrated in Netflix docuseries

Under the direction of Katie Walsh, the series offers viewers a close-up look at Simone Biles' life both on and off the mat, giving them a glimpse into her Olympic journey and the network of people who have helped her succeed.

Two episodes of the Netflix series 'Simone Biles Rising' were released last month, and two more are scheduled for release in the fall.

The episodes that have previously been broadcast talked about Biles' time in Tokyo and her journey to return to her best for Paris, Daily Mail reported.

Walsh told People, "We're all going to watch her on the field of play. But those are two hours out of five or six days, so what's all the other time like?"

"It's been great to just be able to be a fly on the wall and just experience it a little bit through her eyes, which, I mean, there's no better person to experience the Olympics with," Walsh added.

One of Walsh's favorite memories was meeting Biles and the members of the American gymnastics team, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, during the athlete screening procedure.

Walsh continued, "It's where all the athletes go and get their swag and all the goodies, and we got to meet her there."

"We got to go through the whole experience with them as they try on the clothes, get the opening and closing ceremonies outfits, the jumpsuits they wear on the podium if they win a medal," he said.

"They get fitted for their official Olympic rings; all the stuff. That was just fun, especially for this team."

Netflix docuseries focuses on Simone Biles' support system

The emphasis on the crucial support from Simone Biles' family—who were able to attend the Paris Games despite missing out in Tokyo—is another important component of the docuseries.

Walsh captured Biles' family's emotional responses while they watched her compete, as well as the continuous contact between Biles and her loved ones.

The docuseries gives viewers a better knowledge of what motivates her success.

"Her family had never missed a gymnastics competition in her 20 years as a competitor, from when she was 6," said Walsh.

"I think we underestimate the importance of that family support and the community of people that surround you. What happens on the floor is not in a vacuum. It's about the people," she added.

"Even when she's on the floor, she's talking to her parents in the stands. I was up in the stands with Jonathan. I'm watching him text her and do heart symbols to her when she's on the floor. They're communicating the whole time. It's so important."

'Simone Biles Rising's final episodes are much awaited since they will highlight not only the gymnast's athletic accomplishments but also her personal development and the solid support system that surrounds her.

Simone Biles to return home with family after celebrating wins in Paris

Simone Biles will be busy this autumn between her 'Gold Over America' tour, supporting husband Jonathan Owens playing for the Chicago Bears as his NFL season kicks off, and moving into the home they built in Houston.

Director Walsh told PEOPLE that the first two episodes, which debuted in mid-July, chronicled her challenging 2020 Tokyo Games and how she restored her mental health.

Walsh noted that because of the pandemic, returning Tokyo Olympians Lee, Chiles, and Carey were unable to have that experience in 2021.

"They're all experiencing this for the first time and they're especially appreciative because they knew they missed it three years ago. That was a really fun day to be a part of, and Simone's so funny," Walsh said.

The filmmaker added, "She's laughing and making everyone laugh and kind of making fun of the clothes a little bit and just being goofy. It's just so nice to spend time with her in that kind of environment, when there's not the weight of the world on her shoulders at that moment."

Biles' Olympic career appeared to have been written by Walsh herself with gold in the all-around, team, and vault finals, and also a silver to competitor (and friend) Rebeca Andrade of Brazil in the floor final.

Biles will shortly return home after spending some much-needed time celebrating with her family in Paris.
