LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Shannen Doherty became tearful on Sunday, February 4, when she responded to Alyssa Milano's denial that she was involved in Doherty's exit from 'Charmed'.

The 'Beverly Hills' and '90210' actress garnered media attention in December 2023 when she and co-star Holly Marie Combs claimed that Milano was responsible for Doherty's removal from 'Charmed' in 2001.

However, during a 'Who's the Boss?' panel at MegaCon Orlando on Friday, February 2, Milano, 51, refuted the accusation, stating that she is "sad that people can’t move past it".

In an Instagram post over the weekend, Milano reiterated, "I did not have the power to get anyone fired," attributing it to the studio and late TV producer Aaron Spelling.

Doherty, 52, broke down in tears as she discussed the situation during a panel for the cult program at MegaCon Orlando, with co-stars Holly Combs and Rose McGowan.

In defense of her claim, Doherty told MegaCon Orlando attendees on Sunday that "a lot of things have been said and a lot have been very hurtful".

The actress then read aloud from notes she had written the night before, emphasizing that she was providing her own version of events rather than "the narrative that others put out there for me".

"Holly and I, we were not mean on the podcast — my podcast, 'Let's Be Clear.' In fact, we went in and we edited out anything that we felt would cause more drama," Doherty said.

"We simply told the truth because the truth actually does matter. But we wanted to try to save you, the fans, from heartbreak as much as humanly possible," per PEOPLE.

The actress claimed that receiving treatment for Stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread to her bones, has affected her feelings towards the subject.

Doherty added: "At this point in my life with my health diagnosis — I’m sorry if I start crying — with fighting horrific disease every day of my life, it is also incredibly important to me that the truth actually be told as opposed to the narrative that others put out there for me."

Regarding her and Combs' assertions, Doherty continued, "We told it together, we told our truths and we are standing by our truths."

The former 'Beverly Hills' actress continued by saying, "There is no revisionist history happening in the truth that I know we told … There is no lateness to set, there is no mediator for months on end. I recall the facts as if I was still living in them."

The 'Heathers' actress broke down again, saying, "What somebody else may call drama, is an actual trauma for me that I have lived with for an extremely long time."

"And it is only through my battle with cancer that I decided to address this trauma and be open and honest about so that I can actually heal from a livelihood that was taken away from me."

"A livelihood that was taken away from my family because somebody else wanted to be No 1 on the call sheet. That is the truth," Doherty said in closing.

Holly Marie Combs defends Shannen Doherty after Alyssa Milano's denial

Holly Marie Combs expressed her disappointment with her former co-star, Milano, in a recent Instagram video that featured images of Combs' statement.

"I feel the need to defend myself after the many continuing attacks that have ensued since Alyssa stepped out on the stage and essentially called Shannen and I liars when she was simply asked what it was like to work with Rose [McGowan]," Combs, 50, said.

Combs reiterated in her Monday, February 5, statement that their memories are "not revisionist history," as Milano had previously described their accounts.

"It was not in the cards. Clearly," Combs stated, adding that she had "long wanted the girls to just get along for the sake of something bigger than all of [them] combined".

Combs admitted that she advised her co-stars "to lay off [each] other" following the release of 'Charmed'.

The actress noted that Milano's assertion that she did not "have the power to fire anyone" was "ironic," given that "this was actually all about power".

"'Charmed' was made for all of you and lastly the truth of the matter is we all are, despite our differences, incredibly grateful for this dysfunctional family in every way," Combs concluded her post.
