LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Singer Khalid, known for hit tracks like 'Young Dumb & Broke' and 'Location', confirmed his sexuality on social media in a series of X posts on November 22.

Khalid comes out as gay after X user makes derogatory remarks
The posts from the ‘Present’ singer, born Khalid Donnel Robinson, came immediately after an X user, Hugo Almonte who claims himself to be a musician, reportedly called out the “gay artists.”
As per Rolling Stone, Almonte alleged in his now-deleted post that “one of your favorite gay R&B singers” once offered him drugs and “tried to set me up and lie that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”
He also asserted that the “gay artists that are out right now” are “shitty as f**k” and went on to share a photo of himself with the ‘Eastside’ singer.
Khalid has, however, not yet said anything about Almonte’s posts.
Besides, in a statement to Rolling Stone, the accuser without naming Khalid claimed that “he tried to use his power to silence me because I simply ended our relationship.”
“It’s crazy that these people said I was chasing clout, when I was holding onto this for five years, and I finally had enough,” he added.
Khalid's peers come to his defense
But Hugo Almonte received backlash from producers MNEK and Amorphous.
“Your music can barely allow you to afford a small fry at jack in the box and you're pressed about outing someone who has three diamond records. y'all are not the same, babes,” Amorphous tweeted.

y'all are not the same, babes.
“if you're intentionally going out of your way to be shady or cause mess, do not be shocked if your failing music career is brought up. people with thriving music careers barely get that pass around me. that's the problem. y'all don't get cussed out, punched or dragged enough,” he added.

“Loser Loser LOSER LOSER behaviour,” pop-R&B producer MNEK commented.
