Snoop Dogg reveals emotional reason for saving Gail Bliss with Coach Replay button on 'The Voice'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On the Monday, September 30 episode of 'The Voice', Snoop Dogg made a deeply personal and emotional decision when he used his Coach Replay button to save Gail Bliss.
The rapper revealed that his late mother, Beverly Tate, inspired him to take action, as he felt her presence during the 61-year-old's performance, as per People.
Snoop Dogg felt his mother's spirit in Gail Bliss
"The spirit of my mother is in me right now," said Snoop Dogg after Gail Bliss' performance failed to receive any chair turns. Hovering over the button, the 'Drop It Like It's Hot' hitmaker noted that the contestant shared a name with his beloved aunt Gail, which made the moment even more significant.
Snoop shared, "My mother's sister's name was Gail, which was one of my favorite aunties. You couldn't see me but I had my hand like this the whole way. But they added a piece to the puzzle this year called the Coach's Replay... so if I were to push this button right now you would be on my team."

Despite initially holding off on pushing the button in hopes that Reba McEntire would take the lead, Snoop ultimately made the decision to hit the Coach Replay button, giving Bliss another shot.
As the oldest contestant in the competition, Bliss was overwhelmed with emotion, shedding tears as Snoop embraced her and said, "My mother's spirit is all in you right now."
When host Carson Daly asked Snoop what drove him to press the button, Snoop explained that his mother's voice guided him, telling him, "You need this woman on your team. You need some wisdom."

Snoop’s mother, Tate, died in October 2021. Since then, the rapper has shared several touching tributes in her memory. This moment on 'The Voice' was another way for him to honor her guidance and love.
Reba McEntire was the first one to push the new Coach Replay button
'The Voice' Season 26 premiere on September 23 delivered a heartwarming and unexpected surprise when Reba McEntire made a historic move that left fellow coach Snoop Dogg wiping away tears.
The pivotal scene unfolded when contestant Kendall Eugene performed Morgan Wallen’s emotional song, 'Don’t Think Jesus'. Despite his heartfelt rendition, none of the coaches, including McEntire, turned their chairs.
After Eugene's candid remark, "You should’ve turned," the 69-year-old realized her oversight, agreeing with his comment and expressing confusion over her decision not to push her Coach Replay button, becoming the first coach in the show's history to do so.
McEntire later admitted, "I was going to say that exact same words. I don’t understand why I did not turn around."
