'This is special': Snoop Dogg runs in 'prestigious' Paris Olympics torch relay
PARIS, FRANCE: Snoop Dogg added his unique flavor to the Paris Olympics as he participated in the prestigious event.
On Friday, July 26, the ‘Drop It Like It's Hot’ crooner held on to the Olympic torch, and ran through the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis.

The Paris Olympics’ Instagram page shared a clip in which Snoop Dogg was dressed in a white Olympics tracksuit and gold sneakers, as he joined the last few torchbearers.
He also waved at his fans and showed off some moves, reported TMZ.
The iconic rapper is also an NBC sportscaster for the Paris Olympics, and later talked about his experience during the show, recalling Muhammad Ali at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
“It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there. This is my own version of it. I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special,” said Snoop Dogg, per the Washington Post.

Snoop Dogg also expressed his gratitude for being chosen as a torchbearer at the Paris Olympics, “This says a lot about America as far as where we’re at in this world. At the same time, it says a lot about France as far as connecting the dots and allowing me to do this, he said.
“I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this," the rapped added.
"I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow, to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is," he continued.
On his collaboration with NBC network, the ‘Lay Low’ singer said earlier, “We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix."
The 52-year-old added, "It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”
