Snoop Dogg's daughter Cori Broadus reveals rapper's heartwarming gesture after she suffered stroke

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cori Broadus, the only daughter of rapper Snoop Dogg, opened up about her health struggles and the unwavering support she received from her father.

Nearly a year after suffering a stroke, the 24-year-old shared how her father stepped up during her recovery with heartwarming gestures.

Cori, the chief executive of Choc Factory Co makeup, who has had lupus since childhood, also shared how the stroke was a turning point in her life.

Cori Broadus reveals Snoop Dogg’s dedication towards her despite being busy 

Cori Broadus expressed gratitude for his father, Snoop Dogg's continuous presence despite being busy. "It's amazing, especially with him being who he is," Cori told E! News.

"He's a very busy man. He's always on the road. He's always gone. But the fact that he takes time to be there for his daughter, to give me advice and to let me know that he's here—that means the world to me," Cori added.

The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr, shares Cori with his wife, Shante Broadus, along with sons Corde Broadus, 30, and Cordell Broadus, 27. He also has a 26-year-old son, Julian Broadus, from a previous relationship.

Cori revealed that after a 10-hour workday, Snoop Dogg visited her late at night just to check in on her. "Moments like that, you took the time out of your day when you wrapped up your shoot to just be here for me, check up on me, and make sure that I'm good," she shared.

"I'm such a daddy's girl, so that just puts the icing on the top when he is here for me. He shows how much he loves his baby girl," Cori added.

Cori Broadus recalls family’s shock response to her health scare

The stroke came as a shock to Cori Broadus, who was diagnosed with lupus at age six and had been dealing with additional health complications.

She shared how she informed her family about the situation. "I texted them that I just had a stroke and sent them a picture," Cori said. "Everybody just came to my rescue. They were like, 'What are they saying? What's going on?'"

Due to her lupus-related issues, Cori had to stay in the hospital longer than expected. "I could have went home after my stroke, but my lupus wasn't doing so well," she explained. "My kidneys were failing. It was a lot going on."

Cori also spoke about Snoop Dogg’s struggle with hospital settings but noted how he overcame his discomfort to stay by her side.

"He gets weak around those types of settings," Cori shared. "He came and sat there with me and really just made sure that I was OK."

Cori Broadus on lessons learned after suffering a stroke

The stroke occurred while Cori Broadus was planning her wedding with her fiance Wayne Deuce. The health scare has made her prioritize her health.

Moreover, the ordeal brought valuable life lessons. "You have to take care of yourself," she said, adding, "Life is so short and anything can happen. Sometimes, God sets things up to check you and to get you back where you need to be."

Cori revealed via Instagram stories in January that she had suffered a severe stroke. Her posts reflected anger and disappointment for being constantly sick, “I’m only 24 what did I do in my past to deserve all of this," she wrote in one of the posts.

Cori has now made peace with it as she says, "...It helped me realize how beautiful life is—how loved I am, how strong my village is, how blessed I am."
