'So strange': Internet stunned as TikToker and 'Club Rat' director Eva Evans suddenly dies at 29

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The sudden and tragic death of TikToker Eva Evans, 29, who was co-creator of the comedy series 'Club Rat', has left fans and the creative community in shock.

Her sister Lila announced the heartbreaking news on her Instagram on Sunday, April 21.

Talking to Instagram, Lila wrote, "Yesterday my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died. After 24 hours, i still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so i know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be."

She added, "I wish I had Eva here now to refer to because she would have better words and know how to say what I don't. I am keeping this brief, so we can plan for the next few days, but you'll be hearing a lot more from me on how much Eva means to me and just how different the world will be without her."

Lila noted that the family planned to hold a "celebration of Eva this coming Tuesday, 4/23, in the evening in lower Manhattan." The cause of Eva's death wasn't disclosed. 

Along with Lila and their mother, Heather Evans, Eva is survived by sisters Zoe and Sofi. The siblings' father, Matt Baumgardner, died in 2018 at 63.

Eva co-wrote and directed the five-episode series 'Club Rat', which aired on Amazon Prime Video in 2023. She portrayed an influencer who, after a video of her breakup goes viral, tries her hand at dating again in New York City.

E Online says that on social media, Eva documented her real life, which included an actual breakup she underwent in early March following an almost two-year relationship.
