Sofia Vergara leaps from her seat, jokingly yells after losing Best Actress Golden Globe to Jodie Foster
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood veteran Jodie Foster was playfully heckled by fellow A-lister nominee Sofia Vergara at the 2025 Golden Globes Awards on Sunday, January 5, reported the Daily Mail.
The 62-year-old star won the award for Best Actress in a Limited Series at the ceremony for her role as police chief Liz Danvers in 'True Detective: Night Country'.

While Foster was being handed her award, the announcer told the crowd that it was her "10th nomination and fifth win". Upon hearing it, Vergara excitedly left her seat, approached the stage and cried out, "Oh no, give me one!"
Foster acknowledged her fellow star's jest chuckling, "I know, I know", before breaking into a laugh.
Vergara's Golden Globes nomination in the same category as Foster marked the fifth nomination of ‘The Modern Family’ star without any win. Both actresses were nominated in the same category for the same roles at the 2024 Emmys in September, where Foster was named the winner as well.
After losing at the Emmys, Vergara poked fun at her defeat on Instagram. She posted a video to Instagram, where she can be heard saying “me lo robaron” meaning “they stole it from me”.

The 'Silence of the Lambs' star went on to thank the team of 'True Detective', "who I love so much, we are only here for one reason, and that is the wonderful, beautiful showrunner, writer, director. So grateful to you and your talent and your friendship".
She also remembered "the indigenous people who shared their stories with us". "They've changed my life, hopefully, they will change yours," she said.
Toward the end, Foster thanked her family, which includes her sons Kit, 23, and Charles, 26, whom she shares with ex-Cydney Bernard, 71, and her partner, Alexandra Hedison, 55. Kit was Foster's date for the event.
"So, my boys, I love you, and this of course is for you, and the love of my life, Alex. Thank you forever," she said.
Following Foster's speech, the camera cut to Vergara, who showed off mock frustration before breaking into a laugh.
