According to the label Big Hit, ‘FRI(END)S’ is “rooted in the Pop Soul R&B genre, while it delivers relatable and witty romance through lyrics written entirely in English." In September 2023, V released 'Layover', which spawned the singles ‘Love Me Again’, ‘Rainy Days', and ‘Slow Dancing'.

Following this, V and his BTS bandmates Jungkook, Jimin, and RM started to carry out their mandatory military enlistment in South Korea which is expected to keep the K-pop band out of action until 2025. It started on December 11, last year, however, their return is scheduled for June 10, 2025.

BTS' V had 'prepared' to keep fans occupied before beginning military service

For context, before beginning his military service in December, V hinted that he ‘prepared’ some things to keep fans occupied while he was away.

He added, “Actually, I’m really sad that I can’t make happy memories with my ARMY for the time being, it’s the hardest not to see the ARMY. I’II be back after 18 months of being healthy, so take care of your ARMY and if you’re looking for something to be happy about every day, cheers! I’m here! I’ll be back!."
