Songwriter Diane Warren 'excited' to get her 15th Oscar nomination for 'The Fire Inside'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Diane Warren is not taking this moment for granted!

The Oscar winner has been nominated again for the 2023 Best Original Song category, which would be her 15th time making the cut.

In a conversation with DailyMail, the super-talented artist said, 'I’m so excited to be nominated! 'The Fire Inside' is not only the theme song for the movie 'Flamin' Hot', it’s the theme song for dreamers everywhere with that fire inside to make their dreams true.”

“This is my 15 nomination and it never gets old. Being nominated is the hugest honor in the world. To hear my song chosen as one of the five is an amazing win in itself. Hey, it’s not easy to get nominated for an Academy Award! And whenever it happens, I never take it for granted.”



 

Nominated song features in Eva Longoria’s biopic 

The song that earned her Oscars nominations is ‘The Fire Inside’ which was sung by Becky G for Eva Longoria’s biopic about Richard Montañez (Jesse Garcia). It is the story of a Frito-Lay janitor who went on to create the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

The other nominees are ‘I'm Just Ken' from 'Barbie', 'It Never Went Away' from 'American Symphony', 'Wahzhazhe' (A Song for My People) from 'Killers of the Flower Moon' and 'What Was I Made For?' from 'Barbie'.

Warren during her 2021 Oscars nomination for 'Somehow You Do' sung by Reba McEntire said, “It certainly would be nice to get up on stage and accept an Oscar.”

“I have written so many acceptance speeches in my head, it would be nice to finally deliver one.”

On her song, the 67-year-old, “I'm excited, it's one of my favorite songs. It's an important song right now, with so many people going through hard times, thinking that you won't get through it but somehow you do.”

In 2001, Warren was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She also received an Academy Honorary Award at the Governors Awards in 2022.
