Sophie Turner appeals for 'reactivation' of divorce with Joe Jonas after settlement talks fail

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' divorce settlement talks have failed!

As per the legal documents obtained by TMZ, the actress has asked the court to decide the terms of ending her marriage.

Turner wants to ‘reactivate’ the divorce procedure after mediation attempts didn’t last as they tried to agree on the property and child custody settlement.

The main contention between Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner is over child custody

Both parties have had disagreements over their children’s full-time residence. While the mother wants to keep them with her in the UK, Jonas wants to keep them back in the States. Though, the conflict over property is not a big issue, since the formal couple had a prenup in place.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have both moved on after ending their marriage in September 2023.

They share two daughters, Willa and Delphine. Friends have also speculated that Turner and Joe's rebound relationships could strain the custody dealing, as per Radar Online.

"They are sharing custody informally now but still have to reach a final, legal arrangement," claimed a close source.

Another friend said, "Getting remarried can be used as a trigger for changing a custody agreement, and they're both well aware of it. Whoever remarries first could hold the upper hand — and spark a whole new war."

In a September 2023 statement, the couple announced their split publicly on social media. "After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage," it read.

"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children," added the note shared on their respective Instagram accounts.

The Internet also shared their opinion on the new development in their divorce settlement.

“Reactivates divorce? What does that mean i thought the divorce was a sure thing i mean they both seem to have moved on🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️” one wrote on X.

Another user commented, "These children are going to grow up hating or resenting both of you for not working this out. The children should spend equal time with both parents. It’s a shame they’re still arguing over this. Sad and selfish."
