Sophie Turner drops child abduction lawsuit against Joe Jonas amid divorce proceedings

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It seems the bitterness between Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas has reduced at some level as the former filed a plea in a New York court, requesting the judge to dissolve a child abduction claim against her former husband.

Earlier, the 27-year-old actress reportedly accused Joe of stopping their two minor children from traveling to the UK with her.

In her lawsuit, she claimed that the 34-year-old singer held back their daughters in New York City despite her desire to be "returned" across the pond.

But things came under control earlier this month when attorneys of the ‘Game of Thrones’ star informed the judge that she and her estranged husband have “submitted an agreed-upon Consent Order resolving the parenting aspects of their matter to the English Court and are awaiting the English Court’s sealing of that Consent Order,” Fox News reported.

It has also been said that both the parents signed off on the "memorandum of understanding,” following which Turner’s suit was thrown out.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner said they ‘have mutually decided to amicably end marriage’

The member of ‘The Jonas Brothers’ band and Turner tied the knot in 2019 but Joe filed for divorce in September last year, claiming their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

The ex-couple issued a joint statement soon after that read, “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.”

“There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” they added.

A spokesperson for Joe also stated at the time, saying, “Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York when Sophie came to New York to be with the kids.”

They mentioned, “They have been with her since that meeting. Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup.”

Meanwhile, both the parties appeared to have moved on with their lives after the troubled past few months.

Reports have said that Turner has been dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson.

They have been spotted multiple times together. The ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ actress was also reportedly recently seen with a gold band on her engagement finger.

However, an official statement regarding the speculative engagement has yet to come out.

On the other hand, Joe is believed to be in love with the pageant queen–turned–model Stormi Bree.

Earlier this month, the alleged love birds were captured enjoying a romantic ski trip in Aspen, Colorado.

Before that, they also reportedly spent a vacation together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
