FIRE ISLAND, NEW YORK: Stanley Tucci’s latest book 'What I Ate in One Year' has grabbed a lot of attention online—not so much for the award-winning actor and bestselling author's culinary adventures but for his dynamics with wife Felicity Blunt.

The 64-year-old actor and culinary enthusiast released his food diary in October, detailing everything he consumed over a year, from meals on film sets to dinners during lavish vacations.

However, some of his comments about Blunt, 42, have raised eyebrows and sparked chatter online.

Stanley Tucci makes suspicious jabs at wife Felicity Blunt

In the book 'What I Ate in One Year', Stanley Tucci effortlessly weaves his wife of 12 years, Felicity Blunt, into the narrative, adding moments of dry humor that have left readers wondering about his intent.

In one instance, he wrote, "Lunch was just picking at things in between Zoom meetings... Felicity was out this evening. She said it was work related. I chose to believe her."

Referring to a trip Blunt took with colleagues, he mused, "Alone with Millie and Matteo as Felicity is on a sort of retreat in Bordeaux with two colleagues, something I almost believed was true."

The most eyebrow-raising remark came when he noted, "Felicity was out at a ‘retirement dinner'. I didn’t know sex clubs hosted those."

While some readers took these statements as potential signs of marital discord, others were quick to defend Tucci, suggesting his remarks were intended as humor.

As per Daily Mail, a listener of the audiobook version of 'What I Ate in One Year' explained, "I listened to him read the book… and it’s definitely jokes… the intonation in his delivery gives it away 1000%."

Another fan added, "I just finished the book. I assumed he meant it in a self-deprecating ‘I married a beautiful much younger woman, so she’s off doing young people things and I’m old and grouchy’ way, not in a ‘we’re getting divorced’ way."

The couple shares two children, Matteo and Emilia, and has often been seen as a picture of happiness, with Valentine's Day posts and casual outings often seen on Tucci's social media.

Tucci’s first marriage was to Kathryn Spath, with whom he tied the knot in 1995.

However, their relationship faced challenges, including an affair Tucci had in 2002 with actress Edie Falco while working on Broadway. Kathryn later died in 2009 from breast cancer.

Stanley Tucci’s cookbook sparks online frenzy

The online buzz began when 'What I Ate in One Year' readers noticed peculiar remarks scattered throughout the book, where Stanley Tucci humorously hints at scenarios involving his wife, Felicity Blunt, that some interpreted as "passive-aggressive" or subtly revealing.

One X (formerly Twitter) user captured the sentiment, writing, "I recently read Stanley Tucci’s book chronicling what he ate in a year, and therein he makes several passive-aggressive implications that his wife is sleeping with other men. Never really discussed it further. Found it amusing. Italian thing I guess."

The user went on to detail how Tucci’s remarks seemed to blend seamlessly—and jarringly—with his culinary musings.

"They’re just sort of sprinkled through the 400 or so pages. He’ll be describing a beautiful pasta dish or whatever and just be like, ‘Felicity didn’t return home until late, so I ate my [whatever] alone. She said it’s a work thing, and I chose to believe her'."

"Stanley if you see this ily and mean no insult, I was just terribly confused," the user further wrote.

"Next paragraph is talking about the nuances of wild vs farmed garlic. Gave me whiplash. Stanley Tucci find your peace king," they added.

The post further read, "Actually you know what his page is giving immense divorce energy. Maybe I’m just saying the quiet part loud. Idk."

Other readers chimed in with similar reactions, ranging from amusement to confusion.

According to Daily Mail, one commented, "Yes. I like had to re-read sections multiple times to make sure I was understanding correctly. Super weird."

Another quipped, "The latest post really made me think his marriage was on the rocks."

One user joked, "Seems like a lavender marriage to me. Maybe he doesn't have anymore F's to give the system? I am sure he is super happy in his private life that we know absolutely nothing about. As it should be.."

However, one turned to his defense, writing, "Maybe he's just infusing a bit of humor into the text."
