MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: 'The Late Show' faces another delay as Stephen Colbert continues to grapple with health issues.
The 59-year-old host took to Instagram on December 3 to share the news, revealing that he had to cancel last week's shows due to a ruptured appendix.

In his latest update, Stephen announced his absence from the upcoming episodes this week, writing on Instagram, "I’m listening to my doctors and continuing to rest and heal. Thank you for all your well wishes and I’ll see you soon - Stephen."
In a press release dated December 1, Paramount+ initially outlined a schedule featuring a repeated episode on December 4, followed by a lineup of all-new episodes throughout the week.
However, the latest release on December 4 now indicates a continuation of reruns until Friday, December 8. The announcement has yet to provide a new date for the return of live episodes.
The anticipated guests for this week, including Mark Ruffalo, Sarah Paulson, Jason Isbell, Nicki Minaj, Sara Bareilles, and others, remain part of the planned lineup, albeit with the postponed schedule.

The comments section of his post was flooded with well-wishes from fans.

Originally scheduled to return on November 28, after a brief hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday, the show experienced a temporary setback.
The missed episodes were set to feature guests such as Jennifer Garner, Baz Luhrmann, Sir Patrick Stewart, Barbara Streisand, Jon Batiste, and Kelsey Grammer, highlighting a lineup of anticipated interviews that had to be postponed.
