WASHINGTON, DC: Stephen King faced a lot of backlash online after he posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) making false claims about Donald Trump’s family.

The “King of Horror” took to the social media site on Monday, February 23, to slam the Republican leader when he mentioned that he “never had a child” despite the fact that he's the father of five. Trump shares Donald Jr, Ivanka, and Eric Trump with Ivana Trump. He had Tiffany Trump with Marla Maples, and Barron Trump with Melania Trump.

In his post, King wrote, “Trump: Has never had a child. Has been married 3 times, Ran several businesses into the ground, Never ran a home, couldn’t make a bed to save his a**, calls people he works with dumb, losers, etc. Has never done sweat labor, Has never served on a local committee, Has no life experience.”

Soon, the 78-year-old sparked outrage among the supporters of the president.

One X user wrote, “The TDS in this one is strong.”

Another Trump supporter said, “Steve, Donald Trump has had 3 successful marriages, 5 children, and 11 grandchildren Go back to writing your sci-fi novels.”

“Well you are a writer of fiction!!! Once again, another celebrity that feels like their opinion should matter. Mr. King, with all due respect, your novels are much better than your posts. Maybe try staying in your lane,” an X user remarked.

One more sarcastically commented, “The fact that you actually wrote a book blows my mind.”

“You have single handedly destroyed the idea that writers are intelligent people,” one comment read.

An X user shared a screenshot of an old post about AOC that looked very similar to King’s and wrote, “Plagiarism is a great look for an author.”

One Trump supporter commented, "And still 100 times the man you’ll ever be! You have done nothing for anyone in your miserable TDS life!"

Meanwhile, this was not the first time King had said something against Trump. The horror novelist has always been a vocal critic of him.

In February last year, he posted on X, “Just wanted to say that Trump is a traitorous, Putin-loving dips**t! Goes double for Elon!”

In April, King slammed Trump’s tariffs, writing, “Trump is ruining the economy with his stupid tariffs.”
