Steve Bannon and Jack Posobiec discuss Trump's action in Venezuela and what may follow
WASHINGTON, DC: On the 'War Room', Steve Bannon and Jack Posobiec didn’t hold back and dove right into the US military operation that led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday, January 3.
For them, it was proof that America still carries real weight and that Trump knows how to use it.

The two spent a good chunk of the show digging into what this raid means for US strategy in the Western Hemisphere, and you could tell they saw it as a turning point.
Jack Posobiec says US action sends a message to adversaries
Bannon opened the discussion by bringing in Posobiec, a former Navy intelligence officer, by phone.
“Jack, you’re a Naval Intelligence Officer. Intelligence here, at least on the strike, had to be pretty damn good, right? They knew exactly where he was, exactly had to get him and extract him, sir,” Bannon asked.

Posobiec explained that President Donald Trump’s decisive action in Venezuela is putting other adversaries on edge.
“As of 0400 Eastern Standard time, every single world leader who is an adversary of the United States was suddenly woken up by the head of their security detail saying, 'Sir, you might want to put on the television,'” Posobiec said.
Posobiec also called the operation a wake-up call for America’s rivals. He said leaders who don’t get along with the US probably shot out of bed early Saturday when Trump’s team moved in.
“This just showed them that no matter where you are, no matter how secure you think you are, no matter how safe you think your defense is, your security is, the United States of America and the United States military has the capability to reach out in the middle of the night and get you,” he said.
Jack Posobiec talks about the oil reserves in Venezuela
Then the talk shifted to Venezuela, who’s going to run things next, and what’s really at stake. Posobiec pointed out that Venezuela sits on a mountain of oil, with some of the largest reserves in the Western Hemisphere.
“What will be the status of those massive oil reserves in Venezuela? Those untapped oil reserves. Some of the largest, the largest in the hemisphere,” Posobiec said.

“What comes of the regime? Are we seeing full-on regime change? Or are we simply seeing a removal of Maduro? Of course, all of this is gonna be playing out in the coming days, weeks, and months,” he explained.
Bannon added to the discussion by talking about Iran and America. “You talk about hemispheric defense. You talk about what’s happening in Iran and between America First interventionists. I mean, put it into perspective, right now,” he said.

Toward the end, Posobiec argued that his view is that even if Maduro goes, that doesn’t mean the whole system flips overnight.

Instead, you could see a new government pop up, one that’s more open to making deals with Washington, ramping up oil production, and maybe putting some distance between Caracas and countries like China and Iran.
