WASHINGTON, DC: Former White House strategist-turned-right-wing podcaster Steve Bannon said that President Donald Trump will go to prison if a Democrat leader wins the presidential election in 2028.

Bannon made the statement when he appeared on the Thursday, March 27, edition of 'Bolling!' and railed against US District Judge James Boasberg, per Mediaite.

During a hearing on March 15, Judge Boasberg ordered the Trump administration to turn around planes carrying Venezuelan immigrants from the US to El Salvador, where they have been imprisoned.

Interestingly, lawyers for the Department of Justice ignored Boasberg’s order and said they did not believe it counted as it was verbal and not in written. Boasberg had sought more details on the timing of the flights and how many Venezuelans were aboard but the Justice Department did not provide those details, per Reuters.

Boasberg is currently presiding over a lawsuit against the administration regarding the Signal chat leak, where The Atlantic's editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, was inadvertently added to a Trump administration group chat where they discussed airstrikes in Yemen, per the outlet.

During the show, Bannon insisted that it was no coincidence that Boasberg was given yet another key case involving the Trump administration. He added that Democrats are doing everything possible to stop Trump.

He said, "We are kidding ourselves if we don’t think that Democrats are pulling all stops out to stop President Trump to take the House through any means necessary to impeach Trump."

He also claimed that Democrats would impeach the POTUS for a third time if they retake the House in the 2026 midterms, per Mediaite.

Bannon said, "And God forbid we don’t win in ’28, President Trump is going to prison."

He added, "And people are sitting around – still with the glow of November 4th and all the inaugurations and all the b***s. We’re at war and things that’ve happened in the last 72 hours, if you don’t understand we’re in political warfare, you’re not awake."

Notably, Trump faced criminal charges in four separate cases, one of which yielded convictions on 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York.
