'Still looks fabulous': Internet admires Sharon Stone's fightback after suffering life-threatening stroke
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sharon Stone opened up about the ‘hurt’ she felt after the entertainment industry abandoned her during her health crisis.
During a candid interview with ‘Good Morning Britain', the ‘Casino’ actress shared about the medical emergency that almost killed her in 2001 when she suffered a stroke and subsequent brain hemorrhage.
“My real first step of recovery was about seven years and that’s a long time to lose your momentum,” Stone said on Thursday, May 9.
“In seven years, you’re no longer the flavor of the time, you no longer have box office heat. The same people you were working with are no longer in power anymore.”
The actress revealed, “I was sort of hurt that the world moved on without me,” but has now “kind of gotten over it.”
Sharon Stone endured disability with creative pursuits
Sharon Stone explained that she had to cope with her “invisible disability” and said, "People can help you when they see you are walking with crutches but when you are having a bit of a problem with brain function, people don’t see that.”
The 66-year-old revealed she opted for creative activities to keep her going through the difficult phase, reports HuffPost.
“When I get to be creative, whether it’s on film or on the canvas, I feel very much in my element and that all is right with the world,” Stone said.
The ‘Sharon Stone: My Eternal Failure’ opened in San Francisco last month and she made her European debut with ‘Totem', which will run until June in Berlin.
