LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: JoJo Siwa has revealed the inspiration behind her viral hit 'Karma' amid allegations of plagiarism.

During a conversation with TMZ, the 20-year-old explained that the provocative song was pitched to her, highlighting that such occurrences are common in the industry.

“What happens is, people write songs and then they just don't do anything with them. And then, a few years later, it makes more sense for another artist."

JoJo Siwa quashes rumors of stealing new 'Karma' song

Interestingly, Brit Smith's rendition of 'Karma' gained traction on social media following the release of Siwa's version of the song.

Reports indicate that Brit's rendition of 'Karma' dates back to 2012 but was never formally released to the public.

Furthermore, another circulating rumor suggests that there was even speculation about Miley Cyrus recording a demo of the song.

Addressing these rumors, the 'Boomerang' singer clarified that such claims couldn't be accurate since the song is the creation of Rock Mafia.

"I didn't steal anything. There's no such thing as stealing -- I also don't know who Brit Smith is."

JoJo will be making her debut performance of 'Karma' at Miami Beach Pride on Sunday, April 14, alongside her latest hits.

An online critic who wasn't impressed with JoJo's 'Karma' song said, "Can we all just stop paying attention to her?"

One fan simply wrote, "I love it."
