WASHINGTON, DC: In a revealing interview on Thursday, June 6, Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden's daughter Navy, disclosed that her daughter has never met her grandfather, President Joe Biden.

The revelation came during an interview with Piers Morgan, where Roberts shared intimate details about her relationship with Hunter Biden and the struggles surrounding her daughter's paternal connection.

Hunter Biden and Lunden Roberts' year-long relationship and its aftermath

Roberts described her relationship with Hunter Biden, noting that it lasted for over a year. They met in 2017 at a Washington, DC strip club where Roberts worked.

At that time, Biden was battling a severe addiction to drugs, an issue that has been publicly detailed during his federal gun trial in Delaware.

Despite their close relationship, Hunter has never met his daughter Navy in person, although he has made efforts to connect with her through Zoom calls, the New York Post reported.

"He's gone above what the timeframe was as far as like what he was supposed to do, he has done that for her which I appreciate tremendously," Roberts said, acknowledging Hunter's efforts despite his physical absence.

Roberts has faced significant challenges in ensuring Hunter Biden's involvement in their daughter's life. After Navy's birth, Roberts compelled Hunter to take a DNA test to confirm paternity and initiated legal proceedings to secure his participation in Navy's upbringing.

"He can take accountability and responsibility and he can be a dad to her," Roberts said.

Hunter Biden's legal troubles

Hunter Biden's ongoing federal gun trial in Delaware has further complicated the situation. Roberts is expected to testify in the trial, which has further strained the already tenuous relationship between Hunter and his daughter.

Roberts expressed her commitment to working with Hunter to facilitate a meeting between him and Navy but acknowledged his busy schedule due to legal and personal matters.

The lack of contact from President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden has been a point of contention. Despite public acknowledgment of Navy's existence in July following criticism from New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, the Bidens have yet to meet their granddaughter.

Dowd's column criticized the president for not recognizing his seventh grandchild, stating, "The president’s cold shoulder — and heart — is counter to every message he has sent for decades, and it’s out of sync with the America he wants to continue to lead."

Roberts believes that President Biden is waiting for Hunter to establish a relationship with Navy before he steps in. "I think that Joe has sat back and waited for that to happen for Hunter before he feels comfortable enough to step forward," she said.

Biden slammed on social media

The public's reaction to the revelations has been swift and critical. Social media platforms, especially X, have seen a surge of comments chastising President Biden for his absence in Navy's life.

"Why not @POTUS?!" one posted, tagging the US President's account.

"Such a family man," another wrote sarcastically.

"She should keep her away from that sick family," someone else insisted.

"Navy should consider they self lucky," a comment read.

"She’s better off!" another offered.

A mother's resilience

Roberts also shared deeply personal struggles, including contemplating suicide when she found herself pregnant and abandoned by Hunter Biden. She credited her unborn child for giving her the strength to continue.

"I knew that, as long as I was pregnant, I wasn’t going to do anything to myself, because that would harm my child. So I didn’t think I would do anything to myself while I was pregnant," Roberts revealed.

Roberts has documented her tumultuous relationship with Hunter Biden in her upcoming book, 'Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden,' set to be published in August. She remains hopeful for the future, expressing her openness to facilitating a relationship between Navy and the Biden family.

"That door is always open, always has been, and always will be," Roberts told Morgan.
