Conway donated a substantial sum of $929,600, which is the maximum amount legally permissible, per CNN.

What did George Conway say about his donation to President Joe Biden?

When asked why he donated to the incumbent President’s reelection bid, Conway responded, “This election is about nothing less than whether we’ll continue to live in a democracy under the rule of law. That’s priceless, so I consider my contribution to be a bargain.”

This would be George Conway's first major pro-Biden event.

According to Axios, Melissa Moss, a well-known strategic consultant based in Washington, DC, and her husband, Jonathan Silver, are the lead hosts of the fundraiser event that was organized with the help of Susan Brophy, a public affairs executive.

Melissa Moss disclosed to reporters that she invited Conway to headline the fundraiser, without seeking any monetary contribution from him.

However, Conway expressed his unwavering support for the event, affirming to her, “I want to make a statement, I’m all in.”

Internet reacts after George Conway's donation

People on X were taken aback by Conway splurging cash over the Biden Victory Fund, allowing him to headline the fundraiser event this month.

One X user remarked, “George Conway is a strong conservative Republican. He probably believes it’s a good investment to save our Democracy from MAGA and the autocrat."

Another user said, "Thank you George for sticking up for Democracy!"

Another user wrote, "Thanks for putting country before party George Conway."

"What Conway did helping stack SCOTUS with his fellow Catholics so they could overturn RvW is far more significant than $900K. I’ll never forget his role and you shouldn’t either," one user argued.

"He's a major campaigner for overturning Roe vs Wade. He can't buy his way out of that," another X user claimed.

A user tweeted, "I am surprised, but happy. He put his money where his mouth is"
