WASHINGTON, DC: Kellyanne Conway, former senior counselor to the president under Donald Trump's presidency, said she was "offended" by Vice President Kamala Harris's historic visit to an abortion clinic.

Harris visited an abortion clinic in Minnesota on Thursday, March 14, making her the first sitting president or vice president to visit such a facility, as reported by the New York Post.

Former Trump aide Conway slammed Harris's move on Fox News as per a video clip shared on X by the senior digital editor for Meidas Touch Acyn.

"I am personally offended, and everybody should be, that Kamala Harris flew to Minnesota on Air Force Two on taxpayer dollars to go to an abortion clinic. When her boss, the President of the United States, wouldn't even dare say the word abortion in the State of the Union over an hour. They call it reproductive freedom, women's health care," Conway lashed out.

Conway questioned if the Biden administration cared about women's healthcare, which includes maternal mortality, heart disease, and cancer, claiming these were at the top of the list in women's health.

She continued slamming the VP, saying, "She went to an abortion clinic today. She's the abortion czar on taxpayer dollars. They're calling it, she made history. No other vice president has ever visited an abortion clinic. There's a reason for that lady. It's a stupid idea."

Abortion took center stage in the 2024 presidential election after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade in 2022, restricting abortion access to women. The apex court ruled the states had the right to decide the abortion laws, leading to 14 states enacting near-total abortion bans.

In 2023, Minnesota officially enshrined abortion as a 'fundamental right' for women within the state.

Addressing reporters after the visit, Harris said, "Right now in our country, we are facing a very serious health crisis," arguing "extremists" in other states have enacted "outrageous" and "immoral" laws to deny abortion access to women.

The Democratic VP, after visiting Wisconsin, California, Georgia, Michigan, and Arizona as part of the tour, stated she was in the Land of 10,000 Lakes to "uplift" the work being done there.

Increasing access to abortion rights is among the primary agenda in Biden-Harris's re-election bid.

In his State of the Union address last week, President Joe Biden promised to restore Roe v Wade if elected for a second term in November. On the other hand, GOP presumptive nominee Trump recently hinted at a 15-week window to limit abortion access if elected.
