Susan Sarandon's daughter Eva Amurri admits she 'was so taken aback' over wedding gown backlash

PARIS, FRANCE: Susan Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri has opened up on her wedding day and the backlash she received over her viral wedding gown.

Last month, the blogger was severely criticized for picking a strapless dress for her wedding to chef Ian Hock. She revealed that the comments posted online were quite disturbing. 

"I was so taken aback by the fact that it was already viral....and for two reasons completely out of my control: My Breasts," she wrote on her latest blog 'What My Wedding Dress Taught Me About Why We're F*****' on her website. 

"But here I was, staring at hundreds of cruel comments ... I felt hot tears spring to my eyes in a way that brought me right back to Middle School. There were people I didn't even know and who didn't know me, spending time and energy typing something that they hoped would bring me one thing and one thing only: Shame. And for a second, it worked," she said.

Eva Amurri says she feels 'we are failing as a society'

Amurri felt she was being "picked apart" by online users on her special day, the day she was "just trying to feel beautiful,"  reports Newsweek.

"I kept scrolling in shock at the comments, with the lightbulb going off in my brain like a rocket launch: WE ARE COMPLETELY F*****!! What has society come to, when you can neither be sexy elegant, nor modestly elegant, on your own terms, at your own wedding?" the star wondered as she wrote on her website 'Happily Eva After.' 

Fans stand by Eva Amurri after she addresses her viral wedding gown

Amurri's supporters supported their star after she reflected on her what many called as scandalous wedding gown. She shared the impact it had on her special day. 

One person shared on her Instagram post, referencing her new blog, "I never even thought to imagine ppl would have an issue with you being absolutely stunning, every part of you, on your wedding day. The world is so hateful rn and once one person hates on something it’s like a rush of others just for no reason at all!!!"

"I think your beautiful and all we need to care about is pleasing ourselves and being comfortable in our own skin because others opinions don’t matter," a second user joined in.

"Enjoy celebrating your beautiful (and envied) body. I loved the pictures!" another expressed. 

"It was your wedding you can wear any dress you want," felt a user.
