LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift has made a 'swift' comeback to the short video streaming platform, TikTok after her music catalog was removed was made accessible to users recently. Swifties were overjoyed to hear about the singer's return to TikTok, referring to it as the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer reclaiming the music throne.

A recent revelation about the singer also earned her praise on social media after rapper French Montana revealed in an interview with Russia’s Vlad TV that he and Swift had been offered $1 million and $9 million by Swift to perform a private concert in the United Arab Emirates. However, Montana claimed that the ‘Enchanted’ hitmaker had refused the offer.

Taylor Swift's music makes return to TikTok

Swift’s songs have made an unexpected comeback on TikTok.  Swift’s music was removed from TikTok in February after a disagreement between the platform and Universal Music Group.

TikTok users saw the return of favorites like 'You Belong With Me', 'Lover', 'Cardigan', 'Fearless (Taylor’s Version)', 'Cruel Summer', and more to the platform. TikTok users can once again freely use these tunes in their videos without any hassle.

This resurgence of Swift’s music on TikTok comes just before the launch of her highly-anticipated 11th studio album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', scheduled to drop at midnight on April 19.

The drama began when Swift's label, Universal Music Group, accused TikTok of not protecting its artists from AI-generated tracks being widely used on the platform. This led to the 'swift' removal of music from artists like Swift, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, and others.

Variety speculates that perhaps TikTok struck a separate deal with Swift, given that she owns her masters and likely has some say in these matters, despite being distributed by UMG and having signed with the company’s publishing division in 2020, reports Variety

Another possibility is that Swift is teaming up with TikTok to promote her new album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', just as she did with her last album, 'Midnights'.
