Foster and Usher share sons, 16-year-old Usher V, and 15-year-old Naviyd.
"It's great. Yeah, everything is great," said Foster, adding, "We're friends and the kids are at an age now where they can kind of say where they want to be as far as, 'Hey I want to be at Dad's. I want to go to Mom's.'"
"We have a very open-door policy with the boys. We let 'em go where they want to go. Everything is going pretty smoothly," she added.

Usher and Tameka Foster's challenging times during co-parenting
Usher previously shared how the revelation of one of his children having Type 1 diabetes reshaped their lives.
Speaking of the chronic condition in which the pancreas fails to produce sufficient insulin for the body, Usher said, "From the moment that Type 1 diabetes was a conversation, it was a re-acclimation to life. The life that we knew changed."
“It comes with a great deal of consideration and commitment in itself because we’re all managing to make certain that my child makes the right decisions to have a happy, healthy life," he continued.
"The breeding ground of disaster is lack of communication. You honestly have to find the means and the ability to have mutual parties," he added.
For the former couple, their children's "endocrinologist is a mutual ground."
"It’s been a task. It is very complicated because kids, by the way, will find a way to work you against each other," he shared in November 2023.
"You have to be mindful of what you say and that they’re always listening and greater than that. They’re always watching, "Usher added.

Usher went on to explain the importance of communication and finding common ground as he emphasized the need for mutual understanding particularly amidst the complexities of co-parenting.
"Her experience is what it is," he said, adding, "My experience is what it is, and if we can find somewhere to meet in the middle to make the right decisions and also to be mindful of each other or at least sensitive to the things that matter to both parties, then that’s hopefully success for everybody.”
