Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes take steps to preserve friendship amid political differences
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift, 34, and Brittany Mahomes, 28, have taken a mature approach to save their friendship after there were speculations that the two divas might butt heads following their clashing political views.
Recently, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Brittany, made her political stance clear when she liked multiple posts supporting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
While the 14-time Grammy-winning singer is yet to endorse any candidate for the upcoming election, she has been vocal against the former president and the current republican candidate in the past.
However, per the sources, the two Kansas City Chiefs WAGs have taken necessary measures to not come to a blow over their seemingly different political views. They have allegedly made a “pact” not to discuss their political views at all.
Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes are saving their friendship
Since last summer as Swift became a regular at the Kansas City Chiefs matches to cheer for her tight end beau Travis Kelce, the ‘Lavender Haze’ singer became fast friends with Brittany Mahomes.
The two Chiefs WAGS have often been photographed cheering for their respective husbands as the NFL stars were paving their way for the Super Bowl win.
Following the recent development, however, there was speculation of an alleged rift because of political differences.
Nevertheless, a source clarified that the two women “respect that they have different views” and have made a “pact” not to discuss politics.
A source recently shared with Daily Mail, “Taylor is not going to be written into this anti-Brittany narrative because they have made a pact to not discuss politics.”
“They both know it can tear apart friendships and they respect that they have different views,” added the source.
Recently, Brittany was present at Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island house, where the singer threw a lavish house party for Blake Lively.
The insider, however, revealed that while at the party, Brittany did not “risk confrontation over opposing views.” “Brittany knew better than to discuss politics,” claimed the source, while revealing that she did not want their friendship to suffer because of their opposing views.
“It was an unspoken rule for everyone to avoid politics at Taylor's home in Rhode Island,” added the tipster while claiming, “The topic was off limits.”
“It is not only Taylor who has not spoken out in strong support for either candidate, but Travis as well,” revealed the tipster, and noted, “They know how much influence they have.”
They shared that it was Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour that opened her eyes and made her realize the diversity in her fans. She understood that her political preference may not align with all her fans, and she is okay with it.
“She loves her fans and has sold out stadiums in Republican states as well as Democrat, and has performed in countries where communism is rampant,” the source noted.
They explained, “They are brought together by their love of her music. If, and when, Taylor is ready to endorse a candidate she will. Right now is not the time for her to do so.”
“Taylor deals with so many people in her career and life that are so different that she leads with love, if you are a good person, most likely you'll get her respect,” added another source while discussing the same.
They continued, “Her and Brittany talk about other things and never politics, so Taylor isn't going to let this be a deal breaker for a friendship.”
Taylor Swift may endorse Kamala Harris before elections
As the Swifties were worried about the singer’s friendship with Brittany over their diverse political allegiance, a source close to Swift shared that she is set to publicly endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in the weeks leading up to the election.
Though the source did not give a particular date, they hinted that the endorsement may come between four to six weeks before the November 5 election.
Saying that the billionaire singer is reportedly "excited" with Harris' candidature, the source told The Sun, "Taylor got enthusiastic when Kamala Harris got named VP in 2020, to see a woman getting at such a high political position and being the vice president of Joe Biden, it was massive, and she was happy about it."
"She was happy to endorse the Biden-Harris duo four years ago. Now that Harris is running for president, Taylor is even more excited about the possibility of having Kamala Harris being the next president of the United States of America,” added the source.
