This controversy arose following the release of Charli's acclaimed album 'Brat' in 2024, which was anticipated to debut at No 1 on the UK charts.
However, Swift surprised her fans by unexpectedly releasing multiple new UK-exclusive versions of 'The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD)', thwarting 'Brat's' ascent. Swift's strategy proved effective, securing 'TTPD' as her longest-running No 1 album in the UK, with Charli settling for second place.
