Fox News anchor Jesse Watters claims Taylor Swift is a psyop asset

Fox News host Jesse Watters recently claimed in a video that a Department of Defense official proposed the idea of employing Taylor Swift in a government psychological operation. Taking to his social media handle on X, Watters wrote, “Is Taylor Swift a Pentagon PsyOp asset?” Sharing the video, Watters said, “I like her music. She’s all right, but I mean, have you ever wondered why or how she blew up like this?” before adding, “Well, around four years ago, the Pentagon psychological operations unit floated turning Taylor Swift into an asset during a NATO meeting. What kind of asset? A PsyOp for combatting online misinformation.”

Watters then aired a 2019 clip of a woman giving presentation on a stage, who was heard saying, “You came in here wanting to understand how you just go out and counter the information operation," before explaining, “The idea is that social influence can help– can help encourage or promote behavior change… So, potentially as like a peaceful information operation… I include Taylor Swift in here because she’s– she’s, you know, a fairly influential online person. I don’t know if you’ve heard of her.” Watters said at the conclusion of the clip, “Yeah, that’s real. Pentagon’s PsyOp unit pitched NATO on turning Taylor Swift into an asset.” However, as it turned out to be, the woman was not a NATO member, but a researcher in Johns Hopkins University.

Taylor Swift is known for wearing her nails short as it helps her with her guitars during performances. But as the pop star attended the Golden Globes wearing her manicured nails longer with transparent sparkly polish, fans speculated there are some hidden meanings behind her nails. One such fan on TikTok observed, "Guys, her nails are done, like tips. That I'm gonna assume that she probably, most likely did not do herself. She never has her nails done. She never has her nails done! You might be thinking that’s an insane thing to freak out about and it means nothing." Fans are just adding things up as long nails were a staple during her 'Reputation Era' and it is also next up in her Taylor's Version list.

In a previous interview, even Swift admitted to hiding Easter eggs in nails, as she said, "A specific way you can leave Easter eggs is on nails...There was a specific occasion where I did a Spotify vertical video for 'Delicate' and I painted my nails the exact color tones that I wanted the next album to be. Some people picked up on it immediately, others picked up on it a few months down the line, but it made me feel nice."
