NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift is making waves with provocative new imagery for her upcoming album 'The Life of a Showgirl', sparking both admiration and backlash among fans.

The 34-year-old pop icon unveiled a limited-run 'Shiny Bug Vinyl Collection', available for just 48 hours, alongside a dramatic promotional photo showing her in a glittering bodysuit, nude fishnet tights, and bold glam makeup.

Swift says the theatrical visuals match the spirit of the record, which she described as a “full send” project she deeply cares about. Still, critics on social media have questioned her racier turn.

Captured by acclaimed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the photo shows Swift arching her back against a pale green wall, highlighting her figure in a sequined red-and-black bodysuit. Her long blonde hair cascades over her shoulders as she delivers a smoldering look to the camera, complete with heavy eyeliner and a red lip.

“I loved what they did with those photos, so I called them up for [this album]. I am so happy with the way the photos came out with this one,” Swift said, noting that the pair previously shot her 'Reputation' album cover.

Swift explained that the cover is meant to glamorize how her nights on tour feel: “My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress, but we try to keep it decent… This is how that felt at the end of the night.”

Fans divided over Taylor Swift's bolder look

Swift’s latest visuals have fans buzzing online, with reactions ranging from heartfelt gratitude to fiery debate.

One user wrote, “Hey Taylor it’s Greg. I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping me and my mom push her car to the gas station on Saturday when she ran out of gas. Without you we wouldn’t have made it and probably would have died. Anyways thanks again, love Greg."

Another said, “Most of us were looking for a single... but yeah these visuals are great.”

Someone else chimed in, “Omg!!! Absolutely perfection Queen!! I’m a huge Swiftie!!! Checking it out!! I hope there’s no limits!! We love you Queen!"

But not all feedback was glowing. One critic asked, “Is this what we want 14-year-old girls to dress up as on their fun play days with their friends? WTF — call me old fashioned but this looks tacky IMO. This is what our teenage girls (adults too) idolize. Like Madonna — right?"

A user commented, “Swifties going crazy for this Lol."

Another added, “Am I the only one who thinks it’s strange that she’s promoting stripper culture to her underage fans?”

“We’ve made songs that I’m so proud of. It felt like catching lightning in a bottle,” she said.

The record includes 'The Fate of Ophelia', 'Elizabeth Taylor', 'Opalite', 'Father Figure', 'Eldest Daughter', 'Ruin the Friendship', 'Actually Romantic', 'Wi$h Li$t', 'Wood', 'CANCELLED!', 'Honey', and the title track 'The Life of a Showgirl', which features her friend Sabrina Carpenter. Kelce praised the album as “all bangers,” while Zoë Kravitz told Extra there were “no skips” on the tracklist.

Swift says the imagery mirrors the emotions and experiences from her offstage life. “This is a full send. I care about this record more than I can even overstate,” she said.
