Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce's rumored MSG wedding could become one of history's priciest, expert says
NEW YORK, NY: As anticipation builds around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's rumored wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden, a luxury wedding planner says the event could rank among the most expensive celebrity weddings ever staged.
While neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed wedding plans, planner JoAnn Gregoli estimates that transforming the iconic arena into an elegant venue could cost anywhere from $25 million to $100 million, depending on the production's scale.
Gregoli described the undertaking as a "herculean task," saying nearly every visible part of the arena would need to be completely reimagined.
Arena makeover carries hefty cost
Speaking to CNN outside Madison Square Garden, Gregoli explained that creating a luxury wedding atmosphere inside one of the world's most recognizable sports and entertainment venues would require an extraordinary transformation.
"You don't want people to walk in there and think that they're in any type of arena at all," she said.
According to Gregoli, the process would involve extensive draping, elaborate floral installations, custom lighting, large-scale video mapping and redesigned walkways.
Seating areas, bathrooms, corridors and other public spaces would also need to be concealed or rebuilt to create an immersive experience.
She said those design elements alone could push costs into eight-figure territory.
Celebrity wedding sets the bar high
If the reported celebration takes place, industry experts say it could rival the scale of some of the most extravagant celebrity weddings ever organized.
Gregoli noted that converting Madison Square Garden into what she described as a "fairytale" setting would require months of planning, specialized production crews and custom-built décor rarely seen even at luxury events.
The estimate comes as speculation surrounding Swift and Kelce's celebration continues to dominate social media.
Reports have suggested the venue has been reserved for an elaborate event, though neither the couple nor their representatives have publicly confirmed any wedding plans.
For now, the estimated price tag remains exactly that, an expert projection rather than a confirmed budget.
But if Madison Square Garden is ultimately transformed into a wedding venue on the scale envisioned, it would represent one of the most ambitious celebrity event productions ever attempted.
