Kailyn Lowry reflects on unanswered questions as her father Raymond enters hospice care
On the July 29 episode of her 'Karma and Chaos' podcast, Kailyn Lowry revealed that her father has been diagnosed with stage four chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and is now in hospice care.
“I am joining the dead dads club,” said Kailyn during the episode. “Raymond has COPD, stage four.”

Despite the lack of a bond between them, she shared that the news still brought up complicated emotions.
She revealed how she got to know about it, saying, “I feel conflicted. It’s layered. It was sent to me in the weirdest way."
"I sent my cousin money for something, and her sister was like, ‘Don’t send her money.’ Then, she told my aunt, [who] is my dad’s sister. My dad’s sister sent me a message, ‘I know your heart was in the right place, but don’t do that.’ In the same message, [she said], ‘Just an FYI, your father has stage IV COPD. He’s on hospice.’ It was all the same message,” Kailyn shared.
She added, “It’s layered in that, obviously, I don’t have a relationship with him and never did, but I feel like I didn’t ever get the answers I’ve been looking for.”
Kailyn Lowry reflects on a reconciliation attempt with her father
The 33-year-old further shared that she had once tried to reconnect with her father Raymond Lowry in 2019, but he shut her down.
“He told me he would, and then I sent him one and he refused to take it,” Kailyn said, adding, “I feel like, ‘You don’t get to die without answering all the questions I have.’ I want to know why he left, I want to know why he didn’t try harder. I want to know why he just gave up.”

Kailyn admitted that her father’s behavior has long left her feeling angry and confused. “I’m mad at him,” she stated. “I want to know how someone walks through this Earth and does the bare minimum to get by in life. You procreated multiple times and you don’t care? I just want to know where your head is at.”
Kailyn Lowry says she’s tried to give her own children what she never had
Kailyn Lowry, a mother to seven children, Elliot, 15, Lincoln, 11, Lux, seven, Creed, five, Rio, two, and twins Valley and Verse, one, contrasted her father’s choices with the effort she puts into raising her children.
“We really do a good job at making sure that we're balancing family time with individual time,” she told People in a prior interview.

“I want them to feel all of their needs are being met, so that's just something that we've always put at the forefront of everything,” Kailyn added.
She didn’t hold back in her podcast when she posed a raw and personal question directed at her father: “‘How did you walk through this Earth, giving the bare minimum, and you didn’t give a f***k?’”
