BRYSON CITY, NORTH CAROLINA: The whereabouts of the ‘Teen Mom’ star Amber Portwood’s fiance Gary Wayt, who appeared on 'Teen Mom: The Next Chapter' on June 6, has become a mystery after he went missing following a family wedding in the Bryson City area.
The pair had been together till June 8. But on June 9, “they had a conversation that turned emotional. Gary left in the car without her, and in the process, he left his cell phone behind,” a tipster said, as reported by Us Weekly.

Bryson City Police Department shares details about Gary Wayt
Since then no one knows where Wayt is. But on Monday, June 10, Portwood filed a missing person report for him with the Bryson City Police Department.
The statement issued by cops on June 11 read, “Missing person GARY R WAYT. 39 yrs old. 6’01” 205 pounds bald with brown eyes, last seen 06/09/2024 on Arlington Ave area of Bryson City NC.”
“Drive a grey SUV 2009 Nissan Rogue with Indiana state registration plate WLH 616. Any information please call 828488-2196. Ask for Chief Robinson or Assnt Chief Dover,” it added on Facebook.

Several people have wished for his safe return in the comment section as a person wrote, “Prayers he's found safe.”
A second person commented, “Hopefully they find him!” “Praying they find him,” a third one said.

Meanwhile, it has been said that Wayt had proposed to Portwood "within the last two weeks."

An insider at the time disclosed, “They’ve been in couple’s therapy and talk about everything. They’re being very proactive in their relationship and are doing the work to prevent problems before they start.”
However, after the disappearance of Wayt, Portwood is “worried about him,” as per the first source.
They continued, “He should have been home by now if he was driving [back] home to Indiana. It doesn’t appear he has been to their house in Indiana. Amber is distraught. She has friends helping to locate him.”
“She doesn’t know where he is. She hasn’t heard from him and he hasn’t communicated with her or his family,” another insider added.
