'Teen Mom' star Kailyn Lowry tears up as she admits to 'mutilating' her body with 3 new plastic surgeries
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Teen Mom' star Kailyn Lowry became emotional as she admitted having multiple cosmetic surgeries over the new year, The US Sun reported on Tuesday, January 7.
The 32-year-old mother-of-7 had previously shared having a breast reduction surgery at the time. However, in a video post uploaded on Instagram, Lowry mentioned that she also got herself a tummy tuck and lipo 360 to attain her desired figure.
Kailyn Lowry regrets obsessing over her figure
The clip on the social media platform shows Kailyn Lowry putting on makeup while expressing her regret over getting plastic surgery. She claims that her recovery period made her miss out on Christmas with her family, and her fiance Elijah was unable to help out.
"This is the first time I'm doing makeup since I had surgery, and I'm finally able to shower without help. I'm able to walk around without help, standing mostly up straight," Lowry says in the clip. "I feel good most of the day, but I still get really, really tired about halfway through the day.”
“I had a very, very emotional morning, mainly just when I was taking a shower,” she continues. "I pray that my kids never struggle with their body images enough to mutilate their bodies to be skinny."
The '16 And Pregnant' and 'Teen Mom 2' star considered the obsession to change one's physical appearance to be a mental illness that she was suffering from.
"You know, I think a little nip and tuck in terms of, you know, a nose job or like a boob job is okay, but to go through this to be skinny is mental illness, truly, and I say that with the most respect to anyone going through it," she said.
"I'm struggling this time around, and I don't know if it's because I have a daughter now. Not just my daughter, like my sons too, right? Like, I don't ever want them to experience this level of his body dysmorphia."
Kailyn Lowry opens up about multiple surgeries
Further along in the video, Kailyn Lowry stated that she was prepared to do anything to lose weight over Christmas, which influenced her decision to undergo more plastic surgeries than she had previously planned.
"I was basically willing to go to any length and do this over Christmas break to be skinny, even if that meant that Elijah couldn't be there for me, even if that meant that I was, you know, in another state for Christmas. I was willing to go to any freaking length for it," expressed the TV personality.
"I don't think that's something that people talk about, right? Like I was going for a breast reduction, and then I was like, 'Oh, you know what, I should just be... add some lipo360, add some tummy tuck in.' You know, my scars were fine, my old tummy tuck scar and my C-section scar were fine," she continued.
"I realized, like, I shouldn't have put Elijah through all of this, you know, because he couldn't be there the whole time with me, and it was crazy. Truly, it is rough," admitted Lowry, before concluding with, "I'm struggling. Stop crying and I'm gonna suck it up for the rest of the day. Think once, think twice before you get plastic surgery, and I hope everyone has a Happy New Year.”
