Terri Rogers: Police raid home of volunteer leading search for missing Florida woman Nicole Baldwin
ORLANDO, FLORIDA: Authorities and investigators executed a search at the residence of the main volunteer spearheading the search for a woman who went missing from central Florida nearly three months ago, according to The Independent.
On January 19, law enforcement officials carried out a raid at the residence of Terri Rogers. The Lake County resident had coordinated numerous community-wide search efforts for Nicole Baldwin, who left her Strathmore Circle home in November of the previous year without any belongings and has not returned since.
Terri Rogers' home was raided
Rogers informed News 6 Orlando that various electronic devices, including her deceased husband's laptop, were seized during the search.
"As soon as I opened my door, they all just flooded in," Rogers told the local news outlet. "I’ve not done anything wrong. All I’ve done was given my time, and my emotions, and my heart and soul for looking for Nicole."
The Mount Dora Police Department confirmed the raid in a statement, as per Fox News.
"On Friday, January 19th, the Mount Dora Police Department executed an investigative search warrant related to the continued search for missing person Nicole Baldwin. The status of the investigation is ongoing."
Rogers, who asserted that she is not acquainted with Baldwin, informed News 6 that law enforcement believes she is withholding information. She clarified that the situation mirrors the one she previously experienced within her own family.
She said, "My niece disappeared going on eight months in a very similar situation out of Polk County, and her name was Tonya Whipp."
Nicole Baldwin's husband arrested by Police
Nicole Baldwin, a 41-year-old mother of three, was last seen by her daughter on November 2. According to the police, she left her home without her purse, wallet, car, and Apple Watch, and has not returned since.
The mystery surrounding Nicole Baldwin's disappearance deepened in December when the police looked into her husband, Brett Baldwin. Allegedly, during the investigation, authorities discovered 31 images of child s*x abuse on his seized phone.
After these findings, Brett Baldwin was arrested by US Marshals on December 14 and faced charges in federal court for the possession of obscene material.
Homeland Security is overseeing the federal charge, which is unrelated to the ongoing missing person investigation involving Brett's wife.
A reward of $5,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the resolution of the case.
