LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kate Winslet recently revealed she is often mistaken as Cate Blanchett and she enjoys it.

The ‘Titanic’ star was present at the HBO show 'The Regime' at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on Monday, February 26.

"That happens a lot, yeah," revealed Winslet.

Kate Winslet calls mixup with Cate Blanchett a 'huge compliment'

Responding to a question on if she ever gets mixed up with any other actor, "No, we do, yeah. I say, 'Oh, thank you so much.' And they say, 'Loved you in 'Elizabeth,' and I say, 'Thank you. That's so kind.' And she gets the same thing, where people will say to her, Loved you in 'Sense and Sensibility' or Loved you in 'Titanic.' So, yeah, it happens."

Winslet added, "To be mistaken for Cate Blanchett is a huge compliment. So, no, I'll take it. I'll take it."

Both Winslet and Blanchett made an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ a few days ago and shared their mistaken identity. "I get it all they time. People will say, 'Is it you? Is it you?' and I say, 'Yes, I think so.' And then they say, 'I loved you in 'Titanic'," said Blanchett.

Kate Winslet's struggle with early stardom

Winslet recently revealed to Porter about her struggle with the limelight during her early acting days. "I felt like I had to look a certain way, or be a certain thing, and because media intrusion was so significant at that time, my life was quite unpleasant," she recalled.

She added, "Journalists would always say, ‘After Titanic, you could have done anything and yet you chose to do these small things’ … and I was like, ‘Yeah, you bet your life I did! Because, guess what? Being famous was horrible.'"

“I was grateful, of course. I was in my early twenties, and I was able to get a flat. But I didn’t want to be followed literally feeding the ducks,” she said, reports People.

And on being asked how she takes it now, Winslet responded, “Oh, it’s such a ridiculous word! I wear it really lightly. It’s not a burden, any of it. ['Titanic'] continues to bring people huge amounts of joy. The only time I am like, ‘Oh god, hide’, is if we are on a boat somewhere.”
