Jennifer Lopez's reply shutting down reporter over Ben Affleck divorce question sparks online theories
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO: Despite reports that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage is failing, the 'On The Floor' singer is holding strong and ignoring any inquiries about her personal life.
The 'Selena' actress brushed off a reporter who asked her about the divorce rumors during a panel for her upcoming film 'Atlas' in Mexico City on Wednesday, May 22.
Jennifer Lopez claps back at reporter asking about Ben Affleck split rumors
The 54-year-old songstress was reportedly asked about her marriage to Affleck, 51, by an interviewer while she was in Mexico promoting her new Netflix film, 'Atlas.'
After an announcer cut short the question, Lopez replied with a fleeting smile, "You know better than that," as seen in a video posted to Instagram by El Gordo y la Flaca’s account, per Page Six.
Her co-star Simu Liu also intervened, shouting into the microphone, "C'mon, don't come in here with that." Witnessing the "hurt" on Lopez's face, fans of the TV series quickly rallied to her defense in comments on the Instagram post.

That being said, the 'Jenny from the Block' singer is not avoiding discussions about the 'Air' star.
In fact, she made a passing reference to Affleck, whom she married in July 2022 in Las Vegas before remarrying a month later in Georgia, during her appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' on May 20.
Lopez shared how Barbra Streisand commented on her engagement ring upon their first meeting, remarking, "'So that's a big diamond.'"
She was talking about the engagement ring that Affleck had given her on their first date. "It was so surreal but I was just so taken by her," Lopez recalled, per E! News.
However, Affleck, who shares kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, has not publicly addressed the divorce rumors yet.
Amidst the split headlines, the pair was seen together for the first time in almost a month while attending a performance on Friday, May 17, starring Affleck's 15-year-old daughter Seraphina.
However, conflicting rumors persisted as Page Six discovered that the 'Good Will Hunting' star has been house hunting in Los Angeles. Additionally, on Saturday, May 18, he was spotted without his wedding band.
Social media reactions to Jennifer Lopez's response on divorce rumors
Social media users took to online platforms to express their thoughts and opinions on Lopez's stern response to the reporter, shutting down any further questions about potential Ben Affleck divorce rumors.
One X (formerly Twitter) user noted, "It’s her fault she’s being asked these questions. It’s by far obvious that she’s generating this divorce talk to promote her flop film and tour."
A user speculated, "That means yes," while another remarked, "If truly nothing was wrong she would’ve just said we are fine."
"He’s already tired of her and we all know it," chimed in another one, possibly referring to Affleck.

One user noted, "So she was saying 'you know better than that' to the reporter as in you know better not to ask me personal questions and not you know we’re still together."
"A reporter for the people. We need to know his info," said another.
One user assumed, "So it’s true got it," while another questioned, "If things are fine why doesn’t she just say the story is false?"
