LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dakota Johnson does not like the 'nepo baby' tag. The 34-year-old actress, who is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, said she finds the term “incredibly annoying” as she “jumped” at the chance to make fun of it on 'Saturday Night Live' last month, reports People.

When that first started, I found it to be incredibly annoying and boring,” the actress said during an appearance on the 'Today' show on Wednesday, February 7. “If you’re a journalist, write about something else. That’s just lame. So the opportunity to make fun of it, I jumped at,” she said.

The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star hosted the comedy sketch show for the second time last month, where she joined alongside John Higgins and Martin Herlihy, sons of 'SNL' legends Steve Higgins and Tim Herlihy, to poke fun at the nepotism debate in Hollywood. After roasting each other, the trio formed a “nepo truce” during the 'Please Don’t Destroy' video sketch.

Dakota Johnson made her debut into Hollywood on her own

The Hollywood actress, in her interview with Hoda Kotb, further revealed that her parents forced her to make it in Hollywood on her own. Johnson said her father made a deal with her and her siblings that he would support them financially if they enrolled at a college.

But, according to Johnson, a university education was not on the cards. “I definitely had moments where I couldn’t afford groceries and things like that and needed to ask my mom to help me,” she said of her humble beginnings in the acting world. “She was the nice one,” Johnson added.

Johnson has since said she understands why her father took her “off the payroll" despite being financially cut off from him.

Kelly Osbourne opened up on being termed as a 'nepo baby'

This comes after another self-proclaimed “nepo baby,” Kelly Osbourne, recently said she’s “proud” to carry the label. The daughter of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne said the term doesn’t bother her because both of her parents are “iconic.”

“I’m a f*****g nepo baby and I’m proud to be a nepo baby. I’m proud of my parents’ achievements,” the former 'Fashion Police' host told Rolling Stone last month.

“I think that what they have done is incredible, history-making. I go so far as to say both of them are iconic. But it doesn’t mean that I should automatically be given all of these opportunities. My parents have always taught me that you have to prove yourself,” Kelly, 39, added.
