PHILADELPHIA, PA: The Internet is gushing praise over Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts as he has paid for the funeral expenses for a high school football player in Texas who was shot dead on March 9, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport

Jarvon Coles, who played at North Shore High School in the Houston area, was killed at a party in a suspected drive-by shooting.

What happened to Jarvon Coles?

Coles was found in the backyard of a short-term rental home in Humble, Texas after police responded to a report about underage drinking. Coles had a gunshot wound to his chest, according to KHOU. He died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told the outlet that a shooter or multiple shooters “intentionally shot” toward the house party from a vehicle a block away.

As per the report, around 50-60 people were at the party. The victim's grandfather and guardian, Braxton Coles, told KHOU that his grandson was admitted to fifteen universities, had a 4.1 GPA, and was supposed to play football at Lamar University during a recent visit.

"Parents, please keep your kids close. No matter how hard you try, you can’t save them,” Coles told the outlet, in a message to other parents.
