'That’s so disgusting': Jaime Ray Newman recalls difficult experience she had with a potential director

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jaime Ray Newman has recalled an unforgettable experience she had with a potential director.

In a conversation with The Retaility, the 45-year-old actress and her Eastwick co-star Lindsay Price, 47, discussed how they simultaneously manage motherhood along with their professional careers.

Newman, who shares her two daughters, Mila Nico, four, and Alma Ness, five, with husband Guy Nattiv, recollected a difficult experience she had during a casting session when she was pregnant.

What did Jaime Ray Newman say?

"I remember that I was up for a pilot when I was pregnant and the director — I had to disclose that I was pregnant. And the director said, ‘So would you be okay with a scheduled c-section?’" Newman revealed. 

The 'Golda' actress continued, "And now I think about that, that’s f******g crazy. That’s so gross. That’s so disgusting. And that’s in the ways that our business has changed for the better." 

"If a director told me that now, I would go to the network and say, ‘This was just told to me,'" Newman added. "So I feel like we have more power now in terms of that. And I remember I was terrified to tell anybody that I was [pregnant] until I started showing. Whereas now, I feel like there’s more sensitivity."

Jaime Ray Newman underwent IVF and had multiple miscarriages

Newman welcomed her second daughter in 2019 after a long road to motherhood.

The actress underwent IVF and had multiple miscarriages, as well as a stillbirth in 2013.

Newman's two daughters were born via a surrogate, and her daughter Mila was born 15 weeks early.

“Today marks the first miracle of Hanukkah, Exactly 80 days ago Mila Nico Newman Nattiv was born (709 g, 1 lbs. 9 oz) at 25 weeks and three days gestationally at the Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas via our brave surrogate,” Newman captioned a collection of photos from the hospital on Instagram in 2019.

She continued, “The dream team of doctors and nurses led by the brilliant Dr. Caren Lipsky saved Mila’s life and made sure she is out of danger while she grows stronger and healthier."

“Mila came home today, ending this stressful, exhausting journey and making us happy parents once again,” she added.

“Welcome home baby girl. We cannot wait to watch you flourish and thrive. We would like to deeply thank all our family, friends and especially the Sunrise Children’s Hospital Staff. You were our strength and hope,” wrote Newman.
