'That’s so lame:' Internet slams rapper Polo G's arrest over criminal possession of firearm

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rapper Polo G is slapped with criminal possession of a weapon and firearm.

The 22-year-old was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court after a loaded gun in his room was discovered by a maid.

Police recovered a loaded gun at the Dominick Hotel on Spring Street in SoHo, per Manhattan prosecutors, while the maid was cleaning his room.

What kind of gun Polo G was carrying?

Polo G was carrying black Glock on a loveseat inside his room. Also, there was a bullet in the chamber and nine bullets in the magazine, according to the criminal complaint.

Polo G’s attorney Stacey Richman made the argument in the court, claiming the artist is committed to his career, per NYP.

“This man is 100% serious in terms of his work, in terms of his professionalism,” Richman said. “He has absolutely no incentive to flee because he has a career he’s built.”

Meanwhile, the prosecutors claimed that the ‘Martin & Gina’ rapper was a flight risk and brought up prior run-ins with the law, which also included a misdemeanor conviction.

This referred to last August, when Polo G was taken into custody twice within 24 hours on kidnapping, robbery, and assault charges in Los Angeles.

Judge Kevin McGrath ordered him to $25,000 cash bail, which the rapper posted just after lunch.

He is scheduled to make his next court appearance on June 4.

California-based rapper was born in Chicago, and shot into fame with his hits, including ‘Finer Things', and ‘Pop Out'. Polo G released his debut album in 2019, ‘Die A Legend', which reached number 6 on the US Billboard.

It was then certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The artist will soon release his fourth album ‘Hood Poet'.
