'That's sweet’: Dolly Parton reacts to Keanu Reeves once wearing her 'Playboy Bunny' costume on Halloween
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When Dolly Parton first met Keanu Reeves, before he became an actor, she told him that he had once worn one of her famous costumes for Halloween.
The 77-year-old singer-songwriter discussed her relationship with the 59-year-old actor earlier this week on the 'Drew Barrymore Show', as reported by Mirror.
Dolly Parton talks about Keanu Reeves' mother
Dolly Parton talked about how Patricia Taylor, Keanu's mother, had worked with her for decades as a costume designer.
She claimed that Patricia had even contributed to the 1978 'Playboy' cover outfit that Dolly wore, which she has since replicated. The magazine featured a black bustier, bowtie, and bunny ears as part of the ensemble.
Dolly told host Drew Barrymore, 48, during the interview on Monday, November 27, "She did a lot of sewing for me. She did a lot of my clothes." She recalled that because of her relationship with Keanu's mother Patricia, she had met him when he was younger.
Then Dolly revealed that Keanu had approached her at a show years ago. He was well-known by then, according to her, and she shared: "[He] said 'do you remember me? I'm the little boy that used to sit at your feet while my momma was [working]'."
Dolly Parton called Keanu Reeves 'great'
This week, during the talk show, she clarified, "I knew he had become a star but it didn't connect to me that that was who that was." Later on, Dolly called Keanu "great," and even said that the actor is "the sweetest guy".
Drew Barrymore added, "I heard that he wore [the costume] actually for Halloween one year. He wore this exact outfit and he said it's his favourite Halloween costume he's ever worn."
Dolly seemed surprised, saying: "Aww, did he? That's sweet."
Keanu Reeves talked about his relationship with Dolly Parton
In 2021, Keanu talked about his relationship with Dolly as a guest on Jada Pinkett Smith's 'Red Table Talk' show. A fan asked him to share his favorite Halloween costume during his appearance on the Facebook Watch show.
He said, "So my mother was a costume designer and she made some costumes for Dolly. She once did the cover of 'Playboy'."
Keanu added, "And somehow I guess she didn't take that home, and so we had it, and it was Halloween."
The actor continued, "So I put on the ears and the bustier. I wore sneakers with fishnet stockings and the bowtie. I had some pretty long hair. And I was Dolly Parton's Playboy Bunny."
