Why did Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo split?

The 43-year-old chiropractor listed the date of separation as Sunday, December 31, 2023, and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their split.

On Tuesday, January 2, Abasolo took to Instagram to announce the divorce. "After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew," he wrote.

"My parents have been married forever and I'm a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go. I wanted you to hear it from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality. Please respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps," he added.

How did Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo meet?

'The Real Love' author and Abasolo met on her season of 'The Bachelorette' in 2017 and kept their relationship private. The duo tied the knot in August 2019.

"We don’t put ourselves out there at all [except] maybe an anniversary or a holiday, but I think I did that because people were so critical of us when we came off the show," Lindsay said during her appearance on the December episode of Nick Viall's 'Viall Files' podcast.

"Marriage has ups and downs, but you never know when we’re good or when we’re not because we never put it out there," she continued.

"I kind of want to keep it that way, so when I want to share something, I do," she further said.

After leaving the dating game show, the pair lived on separate coasts. Abasolo was in Miami, focusing on his chiropractor business while Lindsay worked on her career in Los Angeles.

On 'The Dr Abs Healthcast' podcast, Lindsay told Abasolo, "I didn't move to L.A. because I just love the city."

"You're focusing on your practice and building it to a place you want it to be, and I am here in LA working for extra and doing other things, and we're doing this to eventually bring ourselves together," she added.

The former couple said they have a "timeline" as they stressed at the time that they have no plan to live apart. "We know where we're going, we know where we're headed, and we know what we're trying to build as Abasolos," said Lindsay.
