'The Big Bang Theory' star Kate Micucci reveals lung cancer diagnosis, says 'never smoked a cigarette in my life'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress and comedian Kate Micucci has shared some surprising news about her health.

Micucci who played 'Lucy' in 'The Big Bang Theory' revealed in a video posted on TikTok on December 9 that she underwent a surgery for lung cancer.

Kate Micucci said, 'I’m in the hospital but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery'

In the video posted from her hospital bed, Micucci said,  “Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok, it’s a ‘SickTok.'"

“I’m in the hospital but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday," she further said.

She went on to say, “It’s pretty weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so it was a surprise, but also I guess it happens."

Even though it was not revealed how much the cancer had spread, the star said that it was caught early and that she was doing okay. "...So the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out. I’m all good," she said, according to E News.

Kate Micucci says she will be moving slow for a few weeks 

She gave a thumbs up to her fans and talked about her recovery, saying “But it’s been a little bit of a trip."

“Probably be moving slow for a few weeks, but then I’ll be back at it. Can’t wait to be painting more, I’ll be painting soon I think," she added.

She also showed a clip of herself walking in the hospital with the staff and joked, “Why am I still talking? Cause I’m on drugs.” Besides known for playing 'Lucy' in 'The Big Bang Theory', Kate is also know for her part in the musical comedy duo 'Garfunkel' and 'Oates12'
