LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Judy Belushi-Pisano, actress and producer who was married to the legendary comedian, John Belushi, has died at the age of 73.

The news was confirmed through posts on John's official social media accounts. 

An early Saturday morning, July 6, post on Facebook and Instagram announced her death, praising her creative talents and her enduring dedication to honoring John's legacy in the years following his tragic overdose.

A Facebook page named John Belushi psoted, "Today, our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our sweet Judy." 

The post highlighted her steadfast dedication and creative brilliance, "Her unwavering dedication and creative genius alongside Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi gave birth to 'The Blues Brothers', a timeless testament to the power of music and laughter."

Reflecting on the years following John's death in 1982, the post noted, "In the years following John’s passing in 1982, Judy honored his life and championed his legacy and 'Blues Brothers' brand." 

They pledged to continue her important work, ensuring that John's legacy and the spirit of 'The Blues Brothers' endure without fading.

"As we bid farewell, we pledge to continue her work, ensuring that John’s legacy, and the Blues Brothers will never fade."

Describing Judy as a unique individual who spread love and acceptance, the post remarked, "There was no one like her. Judy made everyone feel loved. She was nonjudgmental, light, funny and pure. You could be truly yourself around her, that alone was a gift."

In conclusion, the post conveyed heartfelt gratitude, stating, "The Belushi and Pisano families will carry your love in their hearts forever."



 

Who was Judy Belushi-Pisano?

Judy grew up in Wheaton, Illinois, where she met John while they were both attending the local high school. They began dating when Judy was a sophomore and John was a senior. 

After graduating, the couple relocated to New York City so John could pursue his dreams in show business, and they tied the knot in 1976. 

John's career skyrocketed, and Judy appeared alongside him in projects such as 'Animal House' and the original 'The Blues Brothers' film.

Pisano and Belushi remained married until John tragically died from a combination of cocaine and heroin overdose in 1982.

In 1990, Judy married film producer Victor Pisano.
