SILOAM SPRINGS, ARKANSAS: Actor Paxton Singleton, 19, known for his role in ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, was arrested on Friday, January 26, for loitering and possessing alcohol as a minor.

The child actor, who rose to fame through his roles in ‘Supernatural’ and the younger version of Steven Crane in the much acclaimed ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ was arrested in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on Friday, per Fox News.

Why was Paxton Singleton arrested?

On Friday, January 26, the deputies with the Fayeteville Police Department booked the actor into jail at around 9.40 pm.

Early in the morning of Saturday, at 2.34 am, Singleton was, nevertheless, released on a $430 bond from the Washington County Detention Center.

While the circumstances of his arrest are currently unknown, he is scheduled to appear in court on January 29 for the 'Rule 8.1 Hearing'.

Rule 8.1 Hearing is an Arkansas state law designed for defendants so that they can hear charges in their first appearance before a judicial officer.

Apart from ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, Singleton has also appeared on ‘The Rookie’, ‘The Resident’ and ‘Chicago Med’.

Fans back Paxton Singleton after the arrest

The majority of the fans were not shocked at Singleton's arrest, in fact, some of fans identified with his antics and admitted to doing the same when they were young.

One of the fans said, "I wonder if he tried to play it off and say it wasn’t his. Lol. No biggie, it’s not like this will make him stop drinking."



 

Another fan admitted candidly, "Many of us did it. Only some of us got caught."



 

"Many of us did this as teenagers…," claimed someone else.



 

Another social media user, however, asked curiously, "Was there an investigation before they arrest???? Or is it just an allegation."



 

"Probably ninety percent of minors have possessed alcohol and/or drugs," remarked another netizen.



 

Someone else, however, mourned, "That's what Hollywood does to kids. Oh well same story different kid."



 

Another fan quipped at the arresting officer's expense, "Highlight of that officers career: Arresting someone over beer."



 

Another fan said, "Ahhh....18, 19 and 20. Old enough to go to war and real jail but not old enough to drink a beer. The absurdity makes me tired🥱."



 

"I know he didn’t buy that alcohol himself. Where is the pos adult that bought it for him and why are THEY not in jail. Is contributing to the delinquency of a minor not a crime," quizzed someone else.
