LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Price Is Right' host Drew Carey recently enjoyed a solo lunch in Los Angeles, showing off a notably slimmer physique.

The 66-year-old comedian, who has noticeably slimmed down, was spotted taking a break from his hosting duties at the popular Hollywood café, Swingers.

Drew Carey appeared slimmer than ever in a recent LA solo outing

'Price Is Right' host Drew Carey's weight has experienced weight fluctuations over the years, but he only made a major change after his doctor warned that his life expectancy could be reduced.

In his latest outing, Carey sported trousers and a gray shirt, enjoyed a club sandwich with all the fixings while reading a newspaper, and later drove home in a vibrant Mini Cooper, per Daily Mail.

The well-known TV host conquered diabetes after shedding over 80 pounds, overcoming a history of "yo-yo dieting," which has resulted in his dramatic weight loss in recent years.

Carey’s recent public appearance is significant, as it marks his first outing since the tragic murder of his fiancée, sex therapist Amie Harwick, in February 2020.

Carey has expressed that he will always cherish Harwick in his heart, even as he continues to host 'The Price Is Right,' a role he has held since Bob Barker's retirement in 2007.

Fans remember Drew Carey as a far bigger man from his early years

Fans of Drew Carey's long career might recall his larger physique from his breakthrough role on 'The Drew Carey Show.'

However, Carey has successfully shed over 80 pounds after being diagnosed with type-2 diabetes more than a decade ago.

As per the New York Post, Carey's physician warned him in 2010 that if he kept continuing in the same direction, his "life’s going to be shorter."

He mentioned that he had lost "1,000 pounds over my whole life," but since the wake-up call, he has shed "more or less" 80 pounds.

Carey proudly stated that, after his weight loss and successful management of the condition, he no longer requires any medication to control his diabetes.

In February, Carey told Entertainment Tonight that he feels he still has "a few more to lose," attributing his success to reducing carbohydrates in his diet and increasing his exercise routine.

"I'm not taking my shirt off at the pool, but yeah, I lost a few pounds," the comedian said at the time.

However, an insider told Closer Weekly that there were worries Carey might be "falling back into old habits" after reports of 'The Price Is Right' being "fixed," noting that he was seen enjoying a substantial gourmet sandwich and fries at Swingers.

"All the producers are very clear nothing on the show is rigged. But he feels attacked — and when he’s upset, his coping mechanism in the past has been food," the source said. "He could end up piling all the weight back on and putting his health in danger."

Carey previously mentioned that Swingers was one of his favorite spots before he lost weight, though he appeared slimmer than ever during his latest visit.

"I would go out to Swingers Diner after The Price Is Right in my first year, get a plate of pasta, a cupcake and iced tea with a bunch of lemons," he said.

The comedian added, "Then I’d go home, have Doritos and several Pepsis, and take an Ambien to go to sleep. It was miserable to live like that."

Drew Carey earlier revealed he was free of type 2 diabetes

When Drew Carey visited his doctor in 2010, he was told, "If you don’t make a change, your life will be shorter, and you'll face these negative consequences."

He followed his doctor’s recommendations closely, cutting out carbohydrates and engaging in 45 minutes of aerobic exercise several times a week.

Moreover, the game show host shared that he is now free of type 2 diabetes. "It’s so much better to be like this with my blood sugar at these levels. I love myself enough now to want and desire this for myself," Carey commented.

Carey continues to largely avoid carbohydrates even after 14 years but admits to occasional indulgences. "I’ll have cake and stuff every once in a while," he said. "I’m not a maniac, but I won’t eat the whole cake like I used to."
