Real reason why Donald Trump and Melania got ‘front-row’ seat at Pope Francis' funeral

VATICAN CITY: Ahead of Pope Francis’s funeral in Vatican City on Saturday, April 26, reports swirled that President Donald Trump would be relegated to the third row among international dignitaries.
Yet, in a surprising twist, Trump secured a front-row seat at the somber ceremony at St Peter’s Basilica, sitting alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
I am watching the funeral of Pope Francis. Every one of the mainstream media have ridiculed President Trump for the past several hours, saying that he was going to be snubbed and placed in the third row. As usual, they were wrong. pic.twitter.com/3vFzWtIfNf

Donald Trump snags front-row seat at Pope Francis’ funeral
Initial speculation, fueled by diplomatic seating protocols based on alphabetical order according to their country’s name in French, suggested that Donald Trump might not be positioned prominently.

According to the report, a large group of international dignitaries is expected to be seated on one side of Pope Francis’s coffin, while across from them, the red-robed “princes of the Church,” cardinals, archbishops, bishops, and patriarchs, will take their place in solemn tribute.
However, in the final arrangement, Trump, dressed in a sharp blue suit, and first lady Melania Trump, clad in traditional black with a lace veil, were seated at the very front.

Trump and the late Pope Francis often found themselves at odds, clashing over issues like Gaza, climate change, and immigration.
Their placement marked a notable shift from previous funerals, including that of Pope John Paul II in 2005, where world leaders were more uniformly distributed.
How Donald Trump secured a front-row seat at Pope Francis’ funeral

Donald Trump’s prominent front-row seating at Pope Francis’ funeral didn’t happen by chance.
According to the Daily Mail, organizers crafted a detailed “master plan” to navigate the delicate task of seating dozens of world leaders, many of whom are known for their outsized personalities.
Funeral planners worked meticulously to balance protocol, political sensitivities, and egos, ensuring a dignified and orderly event amid intense global scrutiny.
Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, noted the skill required to orchestrate such arrangements.
Speaking to the PA news agency, he praised the organizers, saying, “It will be another masterpiece of stage management when you consider those state leaders who have high opinions of their importance.”
Former president Joe Biden attended the pope's funeral, though he was seated farther from the front.
