Kristen Doute and her boyfriend Luke Broderick get engaged against all odds

According to a source, Kristen Doute and her boyfriend Luke Broderick got engaged on Wednesday, September 4, with Broderick proposing while they were filming the second season of 'The Valley.'

The groom-to-be collaborated with a jeweler to design a 4.27-carat emerald-cut diamond ring set in 14K white gold, complemented by an additional half-carat of diamonds incorporated into the ring and veil.

The couple describes the secret halo setting as symbolizing the "love surrounding the center diamond, 'Kristen.'"

Doute confirmed the engagement by posting a photo of Broderick proposing against a tropical sunset backdrop on Instagram. She captioned the image: "I’m wrapped around your finger like this ring I’m wearing...out of all the fish in the sea, you chose me."

"And thank you to our bestie @kylechandesign for creating the most beautiful ring!!" she added.

Doute announced their relationship in December 2022, revealing that she and Broderick had connected as bridesmaid and groomsman at a friend's wedding in June 2022.

Doute told Us Weekly with a smile, "I knew from the moment we met that Luke was my person. I am so excited to continue this journey together, now as fiances."

She acknowledged that a few concerns had surfaced at the start of their relationship: the eight-year age gap, Broderick's passion for hunting, and the long-distance factor, with Doute living in Los Angeles and Broderick residing in Colorado.

"I battled with being, like, your person. I love you so much, but just the thought of being someone’s girlfriend again threw me through a loop because I want to be a wife and I want to be a mother," the 'Vanderpump Rules' alum admitted.

"Most of all, I just want to be a mother and a partner. And I was so tired of being a girlfriend for a couple of years and then having s**t fall apart."

Broderick chimed in, "You tried really hard not to fall in love with me and not to let this become a thing because of my age, because of the distance, because of these factors that when you think about it logically, like, how can this work?"

Bravo fans were first introduced to Broderick during the debut season of 'The Valley,' which documented the couple's struggles to conceive after experiencing a miscarriage, per Radar Online.

Kristen Doute helped design her 'dream engagement ring'

Kristen Doute, founder of James Mae, admitted she immediately blurted out some foul language when she saw Luke Broderick pull out the ring, which was designed with the help of her close friend Kyle Chan.

According to Page Six Style, 'The Valley' actress revealed that she had "dreamt up" her enormous emerald-cut engagement ring over ten years before Luke Broderick finally proposed.

Doute brought her "exact" idea for the gorgeous bauble to her close friend and celebrity jewelry designer Kyle Chan in 2015, the year she parted ways with 'Vanderpump Rules' actor James Kennedy.

Even though Kristen Doute didn't meet Luke Broderick until two summers ago, rumors suggest that the 'Vanderpump Rules' alum immediately sent him the ring details, prompting Broderick to contact her friend Kyle Chan to design it.

Chan crafted Doute's "dream engagement ring," featuring a 4.27-carat elongated emerald-cut diamond with a hidden halo of natural white diamonds, set on a 14-karat white gold band adorned with an additional half-carat of diamonds.

The newly engaged couple and Chan claim that the secret halo setting symbolizes "the love around the center diamond," which stands for Doute.

Doute was in a seven-year relationship with her 'Vanderpump Rules' co-star Tom Sandoval before dating Kennedy from 2014 to 2015.

'Vanderpump Rules' also documented Kristen Doute's relationship with Brian Carter, which spanned from 2016 to 2020. Following that, she dated Alex Menache from 2020 to 2022. Just two weeks after their breakup, she met Luke Broderick.
