NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin celebrated the former President Donald Trump's conviction in the criminal hush money trial.

The occasion's significance was highlighted by Goldberg's presence at the Hot Topics table, as Fridays are usually her day off on the show. Even the two Republican co-hosts, Navarro, and Griffin appeared ecstatic at the news and joined the others to bask in the moment. The presumptive GOP nominee was found guilty by a New York Jury on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records on May 30. It marked a significant moment in the history of the United States as it became the first time a former president has been convicted of a crime.

The trial had begun on April 15, and the jury reportedly deliberated over 9 and a half hours to reach their verdict. The penalties faced by Trump include fines and up to four years in prison on each count. His sentencing is scheduled for July 11, four days before the Republican National Convention.

'Teflon Don': 'The View' co-hosts shred Donald Trump to bits

The co-hosts were positively giddy over Trump's conviction as Sunny Hostin shared, "I didn't feel sombre (hearing the news). I felt like the Knicks won the tournament. I felt like America won. I felt like New York won. I felt like the Manhattan DA's office won. I felt like I won."

Joy Behar said that upon being informed of the conviction, "I got so excited, I started leaking a little bit."

For ex-Trump aide Griffin, the result of the trial was shocking even if it was not unexpected. "Knowing Donald Trump personally, there’s something in him that thinks he’s untouchable and will get away with everything. And even though this was the likely outcome, I don’t think he thought it was going to come," she said, adding that he may still "get away with this" with the general election fast approaching.

"This is a man who made my life a living hell for four years, has made the life of our country a living hell for six years, and so he deserves to be accountable," stated Navarro. "He has been Teflon Don his entire life. He has been getting away with cheating and lying and doing things and, you know, criminal acts for all this time."
