NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ABC wants Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene to make an appearance on 'The View' as the network believes such an episode could be "ratings gold," an insider revealed.

The congresswoman shocked everyone when she blamed fellow Republicans and House Speaker Mike Johnson for the government shutdown, stating that healthcare is a major concern for her and that Republicans should have a plan to address it.

Insider says ABC wants Marjorie Taylor Greene to sit on 'Hot Topics seat'

An insider revealed to journalist Rob Shuter that the ABC talk show is looking to get more viewership by inviting the GOP representative onto the show.

"The praise got people talking. Now ABC wants the moment to go viral again — with Marjorie sitting right there in the Hot Topics seat," the source claimed.

The report further claimed that someone from the network has already reached out to Greene, who is "weighing the risks" of going on the ABC show.

The insider added, "She knows 'The View' is the lion’s den. But she also loves a spotlight — and she knows this would make headlines everywhere."

Moreover, the tipster said that it would be a win-win, as ABC believes the episode could be "ratings gold."

During the Thursday, October 9, episode of 'The View', the co-hosts played a clip of Greene saying of the shutdown, "Let's take off our Democrat jerseys, let's take off our Republican jerseys, and we should do something responsible for the American people and fix this."

Weighing in on the conservative congresswoman's remark, Whoopi Goldberg said, "She is the voice of reason here. What the hell is going on?"

Joy Behar said, "You know what? I'll take it," and then cracked a joke about going to get skin laser treatments with the politician.

Marjorie Taylor Greene blames GOP leaders for shutdown

On Thursday, Marjorie Taylor Greene blamed top Republicans for failing to end the government shutdown.

During a CNN interview, she said, "I’m not putting the blame on the president. I’m actually putting the blame on the speaker and Leader [John] Thune in the Senate. This should not be happening."

Interestingly, Greene has continued to be a thorn in the side of Republican leadership in recent weeks, splitting from President Donald Trump and the GOP on several major topics.

She further said on Thursday, "We control the House, we control the Senate, we have the White House. I’ve been vocal saying you can use the nuclear option in the Senate. This doesn’t have to be a shutdown. But what we have to do is we have to work for the American people, and our country is so divided right now."

Meanwhile, Johnson recently brushed off Greene’s health care push and told reporters that "Congresswoman Greene does not serve on the committees of jurisdiction to deal with those specialized issues, and she’s probably not read that in on some of that."
